Happy Birthday Singapore!
Celebrated NDP in MI yesterday with a parade segment for which I was involved as part of the Guard of Honour contingent. It was really memorable, and I really miss it, though it was just 2 rehearsals and then the real thing. This year is indeed full of firsts. Besides the 'firsts' at the actual NDP @ Marina Bay, this year saw the most number of UG Instructors involved in the NDP parade, and also probably the largest number of UG participants. Made some new friends, including one particular guy I had used to dislike. And of course there is Hafizah from Teck Whye, whom I may get to meet up more often during Area events. Not forgetting all the other dudes and babes :X
After the celebrations at MI ended, I went on to meet Marianne at Choa Chu Kang to exchange presents (she have the same birthday as me), followed by my cadets Gek Hwee and Wendy to receive my birthday present - some 'salad' they made themselves (it's yummy by the way).
To consolidate, here's my birthday gifts so far:
(Should have taken the picture before I eat =( there's suppose to be a smiley face arranged by them with the onion rings)
I must say that these two girls really make me feel appreciated, and feel that all I did for the unit was worthwhile. When I said I would stop going for unit trainings, they actually made a card for me =) and the words in there really made my day. It even cheered me up when I am sad. Now every time I am down, I would remember those words, look at my hands, and cheer up. Thanks Gek Hwee and Wendy =)
